The home page is my Smithy her name is Gilly (Navajo word for dog). She is my Pride and Joy, there aren't very many of these dogs left in the world, they are extinct in their native land England.

Gilly was bred in Tasmania she came from a long line of great working dogs
She came to the Mainland as a puppy and lived with someone for 18mths then I came along to take a photo of her to show the owners of a wonderful Smithy called Patty.
We were going to breed them however I actually came home with Gilly, I was so excited.
As it turned out Patty was to old for the job and so started my search for a male.
Gilly has had two boyfriends, the first being part boarder collie, the second pure bread.
We now have a new member of the family and he is pure his name is Smithy (fancy that)
I'm waiting for him to grow up before we can Breed, he will be Gilly's husband from now on.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH SMITHFIELD'S

They are very gentle loving loyal dogs.

The Smithfield is an excellent working dog and can just as easy be a house pet, you don't don't come across that in too many working breeds.

All they want is to be by the side of their human, some say sooky but I love it.

It took me a long time to find her and now we need to re-establish the breed.

Gilly has just had her first litter, however they were only 3/4 Smithfield they had a touch of Boarder Collie.

They are such cute puppies but aren't all puppies.

From early in their little lives they display the Smithy personality, submissive and wanting to please.

They are very quick learners and take very little to train. Smithfield's adore children and baby animals they love to care for them.
